Mission: To encourage independence and self-sufficiency
by providing work-related education to survivors of domestic violence.
Many victims of domestic violence encounter powerful barriers making it difficult to leave an abusive environment. Often terrified, these individuals can feel they don’t have the resources necessary to escape: friends and family, money, and confidence. Battered individuals can feel paralyzed at the thought of losing financial support, especially when confronted with the reality of becoming the sole provider; physically, emotionally, and financially.

The Community Learning Council, Inc. (CLC) expects that when survivors acquire work-related skills they will begin to feel confident about their earning ability and work toward self-sufficiency.
It is the desire of the CLC to work with Domestic Violence shelters in Oklahoma by offering, not only life skills training and domestic violence education, but as an adjunct to the many services shelters provide by incorporating work-related skills workshops to promote Success in survivors.
